Powernet IT Solutions was founded in 1994 by Jacob Ohlson as a result of identifying an unmet and growing need within businesses for more than just the provision of software and hardware –businesses needed IT solutions. Over the years through continued investment in our own development and Microsoft technologies, we have been able to take our clients beyond the migration.
Partnering with clients and vendor partners who are focused on productivity and mutual success is key when combined with hiring the best talent to become part of the Powernet family. Testament to this focus to development and culture is our "Great Place to Work" accreditation.
In 2021 Powernet founded it’s Equality Council, with the mission to bridge the gap and provide a comfortable, inclusive workplace for everyone.
Since then we have achieved a great many things – becoming an accredited breastfeeding-friendly workplace, abolishing the gender pay gap, published a Gender Equality Policy & strategy, becoming a member of the Diversity Council of Australia, optional pronouns in email signatures, introducing a holiday swap program, creating a prayer room, implemented paid parental leave, among many other things.
For our efforts in the D&I space, we were awarded finalists in the ARN Diversity and Inclusion awards in 2021 and 2022.
