MULTI-AWARD WINNING AUSTRALIAN IT SERVICES COMPANIES ANNOUNCE MERGER TO EXPAND CAPABILITIES AND ASIA PACIFIC FOOTPRINT
Powernet IT Solutions (Powernet) established by Jacob Ohlson in 1994, and Evolve IT Australia (Evolve IT) established by Nick Moran in 1993, today announced that the two managed and professional service providers have merged, effective immediately.
The merged entity will create a multi-national SMB and mid-market service provider with a team of 90+ people, working from 6 offices located across Australia and New Zealand, and will continue to service clients with a strong focus on the transport, NFP/charity, retail and wellness industries. The coming together leverages synergies such as:
- Strong industry relationships with world-class key vendors including Microsoft, Sophos and Datto.
- Operating under the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework.
- Both company’s longstanding membership and involvement with heavyweight Industry association HTG Peer groups, which was recently acquired by ConnectWise.
In addition, the combined entity will leverage Powernet’s enviable workplace culture as a current certified “Great Place to Work”.
“Working alongside Nick and the team at Evolve IT via the HTG peer group has meant that we’ve had great visibility of each other’s businesses for quite some time” said Daniel Williams, CEO at Powernet. “The synergies and cultural alignment are undeniable and make for an exciting future together. I look forward to serving a larger team as CEO and working with our new look leadership team to bring our strategy to life. We will continue to focus on being an employer of choice and growing through strategic partnerships, merger and acquisition.”
“It’s exciting times ahead as we look to further strengthen our capabilities and offerings to help our clients achieve more” said Nick Moran, Managing Director at Evolve IT Australia. “Both Powernet and Evolve IT have experienced significant growth over the past few years, including several acquisitions, and the combined entity will allow us to continue to expand our team further over coming months as we bring our teams together.”
Current Powernet CEO Daniel Williams will lead the combined business, with current Evolve IT Australia Managing Director Nick Moran to head up key partnerships and alliances. No decision has been made at this stage regarding the combined entity’s future branding and it is “business as usual” whilst the integration is staged and completed over the coming months.
