Swisse Wellness & IT Support

Starting its roots in a small Melbourne warehouse in 1969, today, the Swisse product range stretches from top selling men and women’s multivitamins and dietary supplements, to sports nutrition, skincare, and functional foods. Swisse has been investing in products formulated with premium quality ingredients based on traditional evidence and scientific research.

Its products are currently available in Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, the UK, Italy and the Netherlands, with plans to launch in up to 30 countries in the next five years.

"Powernet is equipped with solution and technical architects who provide us with fantastic support and have helped us through some very challenging projects. We have turned to Powernet for support in auditing, compliance and security, office fit outs, infrastructure support, pro-active monitoring, and PC Management."

The Challenge

An awarded health and wellness brand, the Swisse business has experienced rapid growth in recent years. As the team grew and continued to scale with cloud applications and enterprise software, the need for security, support, and network connectivity across multiple countries, continued to grow. As such, Swisse turned to the services of Powernet IT solutions in 2012.

“Swisse began as quite a small company and experienced rapid growth and expansion. Our immediate requirement was to have a hands and feet support capability in both Australia and New Zealand, which Powernet was able to provide quickly and easily,” says Matt Lecchi, Business Technology Operations Manager at Swisse Wellness.

Swisse came to Powernet with a need for support on major projects and technical advice, along with applications to assist the company with their IT management.

“Initially we had common IT ‘growing pains’ due to our rapid growth. We needed support across a number of new applications and assistance with the IT infrastructure that was supporting our business including email, mobility, and enterprise systems”.

The Solution

Of paramount importance to Swisse is the ability to supply its market-leading products to customers in Australia and around the world. As the scale and reach of the business grew, the team implemented Powernet’s proactive Unlimited Support plan.

“Whilst I wasn’t here for the initial support implementation with Powernet, it has grown into a Master Support agreement providing support services in Australia, New Zealand, US, and UK, says Lecchi.

Since the beginning of the relationship, Powernet and Swisse have worked in close partnership on critical business project work as well as technical support to assist their existing IT team. Over that time, Swisse has looked to Powernet to plan, project manage, and implement technical change. Some major items include the deployment of a Remote Maintenance Management solution, worldwide coverage for team members in multiple locations, strategic alliances, and general tech knowledge and advice.

“Response times have certainly been a strong point of the relationship in addition to the ability for Powernet to provide ‘overflow’ support during busy periods and project go lives. Our team is highly regarded throughout the business for our professionalism and support capability, and this could not have be achieved without the relationship we have with Powernet”.

Powernet provides Swisse with a flexible engagement model to support the business when and where it needs it the most. This enables Swisse to get maximum business value from the partnership while also increasing skills internally by ensuring knowledge transfer between Powernet and internal IT team members.

The Results

The partnership with Powernet has enabled Swisse to reduce operational risk and leverage high-end engineers when required and focus on being ready to support team members in new locations as markets are opened.

“Powernet’s team is easy to work with, flexible, and can cover a broad range of technology support and monitoring requirements”, says Lecchi.

Swisse now has a fully-embedded outsourced team, which allows the company to dedicate its team members to other parts of the business, while also having a competitive edge in technology and solutions.

“Powernet is equipped with solution and technical architects who provide us with fantastic support and have helped us through some very challenging projects. We have turned to Powernet for support in auditing, compliance and security, office fit outs, infrastructure support, pro-active monitoring, and PC Management. All of these activities have been performed professionally and to expected timeframes”.
