Eastern Plant Hire (EPH) is a family owned and operated business since 1996. We specialise in the hire of plant and trucks across Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. Our services include the equipment hire of excavators, skid steer loaders, dozers and backhoes to name a few.
Our extensive range of trucks for hire include tandem tippers, truck and dogs and semi tippers. From major infrastructure projects to backyard jobs, we can supply the truck and/ or plant hire needs to match any job. We also offer material disposal as part of our services with our truck hire to a network of over 100 trusted material disposal sites across the three states.

Eastern Plant Hire was in a position where they knew they needed to change their technology but weren't sure where to start.
"Inefficient processes and programs, expensive to maintain current ERP system, old technology, systems that rely on too few to resolve if a problem is experienced, too many programs that don’t speak to each other." Were just some of the challenges says Loader.
Powernet's IT Leadership Consultants undertook analysis across EPH's workforce to identify the key areas of concern. In addition, they analysed EPH's business plan and wrote an IT strategy that aligned with the business goals.
"Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint are used to communicate more effectively within our departments and also access shared files remotely. Moving our filing system into the cloud has increased our flexibility, reducing our reliance on office servers and enabled staff to work remotely. Multi-factor authentication has improved our security. Ensuring our data is secure is of vital importance to our business. Improved redundancy processes have ensured minimal downtime or loss of productivity." These are just a few of the areas Powernet has improved since we signed up to their vCIO service, says Loader.
Eastern Plant Hire's technology has gone through a huge change. Powernet has lead a tender process to replace EPH's ERP system and will take the lead on the project implementation. Along with creating their IT strategy and assisting in the implementation. The result has been transformational for EPH.
